What we think of the Glow Worm Flexicom hx boilers

Glow-worm’s Flexicom HX heat only boiler is both powerful and economic. Guaranteed to save you money on your heating costs, this boiler is easy to use and flexible to install. It is powerful enough to cope with high hot water and heating demands of large households and yet small enough to fit in a kitchen cupboard.

You have basically three choices in this range of heat only boilers: the 24kW, 30kW and 35kW models. Remember that because they are heat only boilers, the unit is creating hot water that goes to the radiators and to a hot water storage tank, and from there, to the taps.

This means that it suits the more traditional properties which have a cold water cistern and expansion tank (these are generally found in the loft space). As the hot water comes from a storage tank (they come in various sizes if you buy one from Glow Worm – from 115 to 300 litres), you will have bags of piping hot water for the sink and bath.

But even though it’s a powerful boiler, especially the top-end version, it is compact and can still be hidden away within a kitchen cupboard. Glow Worm also claim that because the boiler can make use of a direct rear flue (few can say this now), which means that when it comes to installation, it is easy to place.

I currently have a Flexicom 35HX ad understand it has 35KW output.

It has been serviced regularly and my bungalow is aprox 2500 sq f.

In really cold weather it seems to me the boiler has to work very hard

to keep the water tempreature at the setting of 70. I should also advise the bungalow is only 18 years old and was built to a reasonably high standard. Do you have boilers that provide a higher output and would be suitable for interior use and installation?
